From August 3rd to 6th, 2023 in Bardo (Silesia) the 29th "Wesele Wesel" (Wedding of the Weddings in Polish) - the national meeting of married couples who had non-alcoholic weddings took place. Over 100 people from all over Poland spent four days together in prayer and fun, conferences and walks.
It is no exaggeration to say that it was the most important event of the year, because it was not about current events in the country and the world, it was not about setting the political and economic course for the next four years via influencing the outcome of the running election campaign but it was concerned with fundamental issue that may impact our future even beyond the horizon of the next thirty years, namely our civilization.
Polish culture belongs to so-called Latin (or Catholic) civilization. Therefore all intrinsically Polish celebration start with or are tightly connected with the prayers to the only true God. Therefore, the whole event was opened and was closed by the chaplet to God's mercy, which was recited also daily. Each day all participated in a Holy Mass, celebrated by either Father Władysław Zązel, honorary chaplain of His Holiness, or Bishop Tadeusz Bronaowski or Bishop Ignacy Dec. The Masses were celebrated in the Sanctuary of Our Lady the Protector of the Faith in Bardo or in the Sanctuary of Our Lady Queen of Families in Wambierzyce (call Silesian Jerusalem).
Each day was started with the morning prayer Matins in the Chapel of the House of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate in Bardo. On Friday, the participants prayed also at the open air the Way of the Cross and on Fridy at the open air Way of the Rosary in Bardo.
Lectures held by Father Władysław Zązel, Bishop Tadeusz Bronakowski, Mrs. Małgorzata Nawrocka MA, and Mrs. Magdalena Topolanek were an integral part of the event. The lectures were followed by in-depth discussions.
Children participated in workshops on gingerbread production and beekeeping. They visited also a mobile nativity scene.
The major part of the meeting was a Non-alcoholic Ball of the Wedding of the Weddings, starting with the evening prayer to Our Lady. The dancing party was led by a professional dancing director. The ball program included a performance of a folk band and an outdoor projection.
The Wesele Wesel (Wedding of the Weddings) Association organizes the National Meetings of Married Couples Who Had Non-Alcoholic Weddings for years now. In this way, it promotes the idea of non-alcoholic weddings, promotes a sober lifestyle to renew the honor of the Catholic wedding, strengthen the durability of marriages, strengthen social ties in the family and the nation, thus contributing to well-being of families, development of the economy, improvement of the image of Poland, salvation of all, thus serving the State and the Nation.
